  • Spring- April 29, 2018
  • Summer- July 24, 2017

Graduate Degree application deadlines:

  • Fall- Friday, October 7, 2017
  • Winter- January 20, 2018
  • Spring-  April 14, 2018
  • Summer- July 7, 2018

2017 Fall, 2018 Winter, 2018 Spring , and 2018 Summer  graduates are welcome to participate in the Department of Anthropology spring commencement ceremony.  There will not be an summer commencement ceremony.

Spring Commencement Participation Information:

Tickets will be required for entry to Matthew Knight Arena for the University Commencement Ceremony.  Matthew Knight Area will open at 7:30 a.m. for guest seating and all guests should be seated by 9:00 a.m. Ceremony begins at 9:00 a.m. with our academic parade (Duck Grad Parade).  Graduates should be in the line up in front of the EMU on 13th Ave by 8:15 a.m.  Students can begin reserving guest tickets at the University Commencement Ceremony online – TBA – each graduate is guaranteed 2 guest tickets.   Visit for full details.

The Department of Anthropology faculty and staff invite graduates and their guests to attend the department’s graduation ceremony and reception at 4:00 p.m., Monday, June 18, 2018 on the Condon Hall East Lawn.   Tickets are not required.

We encourage everyone to participate – if you plan to do so, please register to walk in the department ceremony by filling out our RSVP online form by June 2, 2018.

Department ceremony is for both undergraduate and graduate majors. Grading students will be individually recognized on stage as they receive their diploma. The ceremony will be approximately 45 hours long, and a reception with refreshments will follow.

On the day of the ceremony, Graduates should arrive at 3:30 p.m. for check-in. The registration table will be located on the left side of Condon Hall building. You will be given instructions and handouts for the ceremony and photographer.

Invitations and regalia ( cap, gown, and tassel) can be ordered from the University of Oregon Duck Store on April 10, 2018.  Grad Fair will be held at the Duck Store, April 10-13, 2018.  Grad packages available online at on April 14, 2018.

  • GradImages will be providing commencement photography for the university, and will photograph our graduates at the department ceremony. Students can pre-register at


  • Graduates and their guests are strongly encouraged to take advantage of free parking at Autzen Stadium and the free shuttle service to reach campus – see Parking and Shuttle Information on the UO Commencement website.  Guests should plan to arrive at eh parking lot at least an hour before the start of any ceremony they wish to attend to ensure enough time to reach their ceremony site.

Senior Send-Off
To celebrate the newest inDUCKtees to our illustrious family of alumni, the SAA hosts the annual Senior Send-off. Located at the EMU Amphitheater, all graduating students are welcome to attend a festive afternoon of socializing with some delicious root beer floats in a commemorative pint glass on behalf of UO Alumni Association, and giveaways from UOAA partners.

On Sunday, the night before the University Commencement Ceremony, join the UO Alumni Association for a champagne and dessert reception from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Ford Alumni Center to honor new graduates. This event is free for graduating seniors and their families. An exclusive email invitation will be coming your way soon.
